Adelaide forward Lachlan Murphy says the past month of football has been the “most complete” of his career.

Since returning to the lineup in Round Two, the Crows have lost just one match and won their past four, to be sitting fifth on the ladder.

In that five-game span, Murphy has averaged 15.2 disposals and two tackles per game, forming part of an Adelaide forward set up that ranks fourth for points scored in 2023.

The 24-year-old said his game was in a great place leading into the clash with Collingwood on Sunday.

“I dare say this has been the most complete and consistent month of footy I’ve put together,” Murphy said.

“I feel like I’ve had some good games at the top level in the past but something I’ve been working on is being able to impact the game for longer and staying consistent week-by-week.

“It is always nice to be in the side, and to be winning as a team and playing my part is exciting.”

Murphy said he had worked hard to develop as a pressure forward and took pride in doing the small things to help with team success.

“I pride myself on doing the little things that don’t necessarily come up on the stat sheet, so if we are winning and the coaches are happy I don’t really care what my stats look like,” Murphy said.

“(The nitty gritty) is my weapon which is funny at this level, and every good footy side I believe has a player like that who does those nitty gritty things and I pride myself on that.

“It’s my role, I play it and if it leads to winning I’ll keep doing it.”

The Crows play Collingwood at Adelaide Oval on Sunday, at 4.10pm.
