Crows forward Shane McAdam has been sidelined by a quad injury he suffered in Saturday’s SANFL game against Central District.

McAdam will miss this week’s clash with Collingwood and be further reviewed next week to determine a timeline for his return.

“Shane disrupted his quad tendon where it inserts in his hip with his first kick in the SANFL game against Centrals which is unfortunate,” Crows High Performance Manager Darren Burgess said.

“Because it’s right at the top of his hip area he was able to play out the rest of the game in some discomfort and was able to sprint and run, but that kicking mechanism really got to him.

“Pleasingly he was able to get through but on the scan yesterday he’d done a bit of damage there.

“We will put him through a rehab program and know more when it settles down in the next 7-10 days about exactly what that looks like, it’s bit of an unknown at the moment.”

Hugh Bond is building his fitness in the gym and it’s hoped he will resume running next week in his recovery from a knee fracture.

“Hugh is going really well in terms of his off-legs conditioning, he’s doing a mountain of work. Frustratingly he hasn’t been able to run yet but we are anticipating he will run next week and from there it’s probably 4-6 weeks from playing a game,” Burgess said.

“He’s spending a lot of time in the gym, swimming, anything off legs that is keeping him fit and he’s doing really well in that space.”

Injury list as of Wednesday, April 26:

Shane McAdam (quad) TBC

Hugh Bond (knee) 4-6 weeks
