Charlie Cameron will play his first AFL game of the season against Hawthorn on Friday night.
Cameron, 21, returns to the Crows team at the expense of Wayne Milera Junior, who will be sidelined for about a fortnight with a slight quad strain.
Cameron, who played 22 senior games in 2015, underwent minor knee surgery in February, which prevented him from being part of Adelaide’s NAB Challenge campaign.
The exciting forward has played three SANFL games in his comeback from injury, kicking four goals in his last match against Woodville-West Torrens.
Coincidentally, Cameron’s most-recent AFL appearance was also against the Hawks at the MCG in last year’s Semi-Final.
Riley Knight, Cam Ellis-Yolmen and Nathan van Berlo are Adelaide’s emergencies. The trio will line up in the Club’s SANFL clash with Glenelg on Sunday if not required at AFL level.
Star Eddie Betts will play his 50th Club and consecutive game as both Adelaide and Hawthorn aim to secure a fourth-straight win. See more Stats that Matter ahead of the blockbuster.
The match starts at 7:50pm (local time) on Friday. If you’re heading to the ‘G’, stop by the Crows Zone marquee between Gates 1 and 2 before the game. The Club’s post-match function will be held in the Olympic Atrium on Level 2 in the Olympic Stand of the MCG. Entry is via Gate Three.
Rookies Paul Hunter and Alex Keath will make their SANFL debuts at Gliderol Stadium this weekend.
Brad Crouch trained with Adelaide’s SANFL team on Friday, but won’t play at either level this week as the Club continues its conservative approach to his management. Instead, the young midfielder will complete a rigorous training session over the weekend.
The team is:
IN – Charlie Cameron
OUT – Wayne Milera (quad)
