Defender Wayne Milera is expected to be available for selection this weekend after he was a late withdrawal from Adelaide’s team which lost to Richmond on Saturday.

“Wayne didn’t quite get through captains run on Friday and was a really late call,” Crows High Performance Manager Darren Burgess said.

“He trained really well during the week but pulled out with a slight adductor strain, but he will be fine and complete all of training this week and be available this weekend.”

Key forward Darcy Fogarty finished the game against Richmond with his right knee strapped after landing awkwardly in a marking contest in the third quarter.

A decision on his availability for the Round 3 Showdown will be made when he is assessed after training later this week.

“Fog tweaked his knee in the game on Saturday and pleasingly he was able to get back on the ground and play and do really well for us,” Burgess said.

“He’s had some scans and will have some further tests today and tomorrow and we’ll give him every chance to get up this week, so we’ll see how he responds to some training later on in the week.”

Midfielder Matt Crouch is a chance to return to football this weekend as he recovers from a minor leg fracture in the pre-season.

“Crouchy is doing really well, he’s training on ground and moving well,” Burgess said.

“We’re going to give him every chance to be available this week, and if not this week then certainly next week.

“Matt’s running at high speed and will integrate into some footy drills and if he gets through that then he’ll make himself available.”

Defender Patrick Parnell is in the AFL’s concussion protocols after being subbed out of the game in the first quarter against Richmond on Saturday.

“Paddy is feeling pretty good but he will work his way through the concussion protocols with our medical team,” Burgess said.

Billy Dowling and Josh Worrell are also progressing from their respective foot and hamstring injuries.

“Billy will be involved in training this week and expected to be available next weekend,” Burgess said.

“Josh is still building his training loads and given his interrupted start to the pre-season we just want to get a good block of training in before we make him available to play.”
