Adelaide has suffered a difficult 16-point loss to Greater Western Sydney in Round One of the 2023 AFL season.
The Crows led by 28 at half time, but a dominant performance from the Giants in the third quarter (six goals) drove GWS to a win in scorching conditions on Sunday afternoon.
Adelaide entered the final term with a five-point lead, but goals from Josh Rachele and Luke Pedlar weren’t enough to hold off the surging Giants.
Rachele finished with three for day for the Crows while Giants captain Toby Greene stole the show with four.
Adelaide will now switch its focus to Richmond in Round Two at Adelaide Oval.
The Giants will travel to Perth to face West Coast next Sunday.
