Crows midfielder Billy Dowling is set to miss the start of the season after suffering a foot injury in Friday night’s pre-season clash with West Coast.
Dowling twisted his right foot late in the game in Perth and is currently in a moon boot to aid his recovery.
“Billy had scans which have shown a joint-related issue in his foot,” Adelaide High Performance Manager Darren Burgess said.
“It’s an unusual injury that will keep him off legs for at least a week but he will be reassessed after that and we anticipate a return to full training with the main group in 3-5 weeks.”
Defender Josh Worrell has resumed running after re-injuring his hamstring in the first pre-season clash against Fremantle and is in doubt to play in Round One.
“Scans showed a hamstring injury and we will take a cautious approach with Josh but a timeline for his return to training is really dependent on how he responds to treatment in coming weeks,” Burgess said.
