DT Wrap: Round Seven
Eight Adelaide players enjoyed a DT score of 90 points or greater in round seven
Top five points scorers
Scott Thompson 138
Michael Doughty 99
Nathan van Berlo 97
Taylor Walker 97
Rory Sloane 96
Walking the talk
Taylor Walker was all the talk throughout the summer after arguably his best preseason. The exciting 22-year old forward has started 2012 with a bang and currently leads the Coleman Medal with 23 goals after seven rounds. This good form has seen ‘Tex’ increase by $63,600 in Dream Team value and his average points per round is up to 82.71. Unfortunately Adelaide’s power-forward will miss two matches through suspension.
Purple patch continues
Scott Thompson is in red-hot Dream Team form after scores of 138, 128 and 138 (round seven) over the past three weeks. His average is now up to 116.57 points per game and on the back of his performance against the 2011 Premiers; he has now jumped up to rank 4th in the competition for total DT points.
Danger a popular pick
He has stepped up his Dream Team performances in 2012, but certainly hasn’t slipped under the radar of DT coaches. Patrick Dangerfield is the 8th most selected player by Dream Team coaches this season. That’s a wise decision for those coaches…the dual position option is up $80,100 in value and averaging 92.86 points per round!
One to watch
Former NBL basket baller Josh Jenkins ($104,200) made his AFL debut for the Crows in round seven. The versatile 197cm tall showed some impressive signs both up forward and in the ruck, posting 54 DT points. With key forward Taylor Walker out suspended for two weeks, Jenkins is certainly worth keeping an eye on as a cheap ruck option for your DT.
