The AFL has locked in Tuesday, April 4 for the AFLW Season Eight Supplementary Draft.
A one-off event in lieu of the regular draft, the Supplementary Draft will allow for an age reset ahead of Season Eight later this year.
Players will now be able to complete their talent pathways (State League, National Championships etc.) in their 18th year before joining an AFLW Club.
Clubs are not required to add players in the Supplementary Draft however it will be their last chance before Season Eight commences.
Players will also be able to nominate for a ‘national pool’ for the first time, meaning players can be considered by any Club.
The Priority Signing Period will run from March 1 until March 9. Sign and Trade will then begin on March 10 and finish on March 20.
The order of the Supplementary Draft will be finalised on March 24, after the Priority Signing Period and Sign and Trade Period have both concluded.
