Adelaide will play four SANFL games at Adelaide Oval this season as curtain raisers to the Club’s AFL matches.

The SANFL revealed the 2023 fixture on Tuesday and had the Crows playing at Adelaide Oval in rounds one, four, nine and 15.

As revealed last week, Adelaide will kick off its 2023 SANFL season with a match against Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval on Saturday, April 1.

The Crows’ Round Four battle against South Adelaide will be hosted at Adelaide Oval on Sunday, April 30, before the Club’s AFL clash with Collingwood.

Adelaide will play Woodville-West Torrens at Adelaide Oval on June 10 before the Crows’ AFL game against the Eagles.

The Crows then face Port Adelaide again in Round 15 at Adelaide Oval with the time and date to be confirmed and dependent on the AFL Showdown.

Crows SANFL Senior Coach Michael Godden said hosting games before the Club’s AFL side helped strengthen the connection between the AFL and development players.

“We are really happy to have four games at Adelaide Oval,” Godden said.

“It gives a couple of SANFL teams an opportunity to play there, which is great for their programs, but also for us, to help us connect with our fans and our AFL team.

“To be able to play on the same day is just a wonderful thing because we don’t get the chance to do that very often.

“It’s exciting for the guys to get an opportunity to play in those matches - the crowd is one thing - but also the ground is a beautiful surface and a great venue.”

In another highlight, which was announced on Monday night, Adelaide will pay tribute to South Australian football legend Neil Kerley with a match against West Adelaide.

The game, which will be known as the Neil Kerley Memorial Match, will be played at the Imperial Football Club, Murray Bridge, on Sunday, August 13.

“It’s fantastic for the SANFL to be putting that on and for us and West Adelaide to be involved,” Godden said.

“Neil was my first coach at West Adelaide and he’s very close to my heart.

“I would like to think a lot of his coaching moulded me as a person and as a player, and it was quite an emotional time last year for everyone.

“We are really proud to be part of the game.”

The SANFL will break for a League-wide bye on April 13, during the AFL’s 'Gather Round... A Festival of Footy'.

Adelaide will also have a bye the weekend beginning May 19 and June 16.
