Adelaide’s Nick Murray and Kieran Strachan both joined the Crows via the Club’s rookie list.
Strachan joined the Crows in 2018 from South Ballarat, while Murray was added in 2021 from Henty in rural NSW.
On Wednesday, both players put pen to paper on new, two-year deals, keeping them at the Club until at least the end of 2025.
Speaking to the media after the contract extension was announced, Murray said he was keen to stick around at West Lakes.
The 21-year-old said he was proud of how far he had come, which included playing 30 games across two seasons.
“I’m very grateful for Adelaide giving me the opportunity and it’s worked out so well,” Murray said.
“It’s almost two years ago to the day that I came in (to the Club) pretty raw.
“Coming over, I just thought ‘hopefully I’ll get on a list’.
“Then to be able to come in and play a fair bit of footy, something I’ve wanted to do since I was a kid… is unbelievable.”
Strachan, meanwhile played two AFL games this season, while averaging 16 disposals and 3.6 clearances per game in the SANFL, as he helped guide the Crows into a preliminary final.
The two-time SANFL Club Champion said West Lakes was where he wanted to continue playing and he was keen for the challenge ahead.
“It was an easy decision (to re-sign),” Strachan said.
“I love Adelaide, it’s a great place and it’s an environment that I’ve seen myself develop over four years now and I’ve steadily improved my game,” Strachan said.
“Obviously it is frustrating not playing heaps of games but at the end of the day I feel like I’m getting better every time I step foot in the Club.
“I’ve had a pretty good off-season, running with a few boys and getting in the gym, so hopefully that holds me in good stead come the season.”
