Richard Douglas and Tom Lynch are aiming to return from injury earlier than initially expected.

Lynch dislocated his shoulder in Adelaide’s trial game against Greater Western Sydney earlier this month. The Crows 2013 leading goalkicker avoided surgery, spending only a few days in a sling. Lynch ran laps at Adelaide’s training session on Friday morning and is hoping to be back within the six-week time frame originally given by medical experts.

Douglas also jogged at training on Friday. The star midfielder required surgery after a heavy knock to the groin in the Club’s trial win over GWS.

He returned to the Club this week and is hopeful of receiving medical clearance to play well inside the predicted 4-5 week time frame.

Coach Brenton Sanderson said the signs were positive for the injured pair.

“Tom Lynch and Richard Douglas are up and going now,” Sanderson said on Friday.

“They’re probably going to come back earlier than expected or first diagnosed, which is great news for us and our fans. But we certainly won’t take any risks with those players either.

“If Douglas makes himself available, he’s still got to get approval from surgeons and doctors. It was great to see both of those boys running around today.”

Brent Reilly is also edging closer to a return from shoulder surgery, with the Round Two clash with Port Adelaide in the defender's sights.
