It’s been two years since gun forwards Taylor Walker and Lance ‘Buddy’ Franklin’s infamous Ruskis bet.
Winding it back to April 2019, Crows veteran Walker revealed he was expecting a carton of Lemon Ruskis, courtesy of the Sydney star.
During Adelaide’s 26-point win over the Swans in Round Two of that year, the pair exchanged a few cheeky words while Walker lined up for a shot.
Speaking on Triple M’s Roo & Ditts four days after the match, Walker said they placed a bet.
“Little story from the game, Buddy Franklin owes me a carton of Ruskis,” Walker said.
“I had a long shot outside 50 and he said the only bloke on this ground who can kick that far is me.
“Later on, he was having a set shot and I said ‘we’ll put a carton of beer on it, actually no, I heard you like cruisers, no you like Lemon Ruskis don’t you?’”
After Franklin conceded a small smile, Walker said he received a message from Buddy.
“I got him, I could see him smirking a bit,” he said.
“He messaged me last night and said I’ll send a carton of Lemon Ruskis your way."
