“It was the best day of my life.”
That was the short but sweet summary from 11-year-old Crows fan Josh Tozer after he had the opportunity of the lifetime to meet Crows captain Taylor Walker at the AFL’s Season Launch event.
Josh, his mother Natalie, and 18 other Victorian Crows members were the lucky winners selected to attend the exclusive launch at Etihad Stadium on Thursday morning.
Fans from all 18 clubs came together and received VIP treatment from the AFL, including breakfast, free merchandise and photos and autographs with their club’s captain.
Josh also had the chance to live his dream and interview 'Tex' in the stands at Etihad Stadium.
“It was absolutely a once-in-a-lifetime experience and something he’ll never forget,” Josh’s mum Natalie said after the event.
“Tex is such a down-to-earth guy and he was so easy to talk to.
“We’re so appreciative and I know everyone lucky enough to be here had a great time.”

The Tozer family have been committed Crows members for as long as they can remember. They recently relocated to Victoria from Adelaide, but already have plans to venture back to Adelaide Oval for about half of the Club’s home games this season.
“We’re true blue Crows supporters, but my partner does have a soft spot for West Coast” Natalie said.
“We actually just had another baby and we’ve been arguing about whether the baby will be a Crows or Eagles fan.
“Josh and I are pushing for the Crows!”
Josh plays Under-12s for the Oak Park Football Club and, like Walker, plays in the forward line.
The smiley youngster said he wants to grow up to be just like his hero.
“I want to kick really, really long goals just like Tex does,” Josh said.
“The best goal I’ve kicked was one on my left foot that curved back around.
“It was very exciting to meet and talk to him today. It was the best day of my life.”
The AFL’s Season Launch event was a small opportunity for the Club to say ‘thank you’ to some of its loyal Victorian members.
The Crows current have more than 1,200 Victorian members signed on for Season 2016, which is already almost a 20 per cent increase on the previous season.
Adelaide will play seven games in Victoria this year, with three at the MCG, three at Etihad Stadium, and one trip to Geelong. The Crows play four games in Melbourne through the opening seven rounds.
