Adelaide has secured exciting young forward Izak Rankine via a trade with Gold Coast.
The South Australian returns home and joins the Crows, who he grew up supporting.
The Crows will receive Rankine, Pick 46 and a future fourth round selection, in exchange for Pick 5, a future third and fourth round draft selection.
The highly-skilled 22-year-old has committed to the Club until at least the end of 2025 by signing a three-year deal.
Rankine has played 48 games for Gold Coast after being drafted by the Suns with Pick 3 in the 2018 National Draft. This season he kicked 29 goals in 18 games including bags of four against Collingwood and West Coast.
Adelaide General Manager List Management and Strategy Justin Reid said Rankine would add class and speed to the Crows’ team.
“We are thrilled to have Izak join our Club and are excited about what he will bring to our team,” Reid said.
“Izak is a highly talented footballer with great foot speed, is dangerous around goal and has tremendous game sense.
“We are very pleased that he wants to be part of what we are building at the Club.
“We can’t wait to welcome Izak to the Club as he begins pre-season training with his new teammates and gets to play in front of our passionate Members and fans at Adelaide Oval.”
Adelaide currently holds Picks 23 and 46 in this year’s National Draft.
