Crows SANFL midfielder Jay Boyle has been named Adelaide’s best development player for the second year running.
The Dean Bailey Award assesses on-field performance, dedication to training and overall commitment to the team in honour of the late Strategy and Innovation coach’s passion for nurturing young footballers.
Boyle played every match for the Crows in 2022 and averaged 17 disposals, 5.1 tackles and 3.6 clearances per game.
The 24-year-old enjoyed several standout performances in 2022 including South Adelaide in Round 12 (30 touches, seven clearances) and Sturt in Round 14 (25 touches, two goals, 11 tackles).
Boyle joined the Crows ahead of the 2021 season following Adelaide’s 2020 absence from the State League due to Covid.
Reliable defender Matt Merrett was the last to win the Award before Boyle (2019).
