Adelaide’s membership total has returned to pre-pandemic levels on the back of a third AFLW flag and a season of optimism and growth in the men’s AFL and SANFL programs.
The Crows’ official AFL-audited 2022 membership total is 63,099, which represents a 5 percent uplift on the previous year.
The figure is about 1700 short of the all-time membership record set in 2018, with Crows CEO Tim Silvers encouraging fans who had not yet signed up to do so in the weeks and months ahead.
“We are enormously appreciative of the loyalty and passion our Members continue to show, and they stick with us through thick and thin,” Silvers said.
“It’s a fact not lost on our players, coaches and staff who are more determined than ever to reward them with on-field success.
“The pandemic posed a number of challenges, not only to the AFL industry but the wider community, and it’s thanks to our Members that we are emerging from that in a strong position.
“We are thrilled so many of them were able to share in the excitement of an historic third AFLW premiership at Adelaide Oval this year and witness another season of growth from our AFL team as we look to return to finals as quickly as possible.
“It is also an exciting time for many of our younger players who are in the midst of an SANFL finals campaign.
“Members are the lifeblood of any sporting club and we cannot thank ours enough for their ongoing support.”
The announcement of AFL club membership totals comes as Adelaide calls for new nominations for its Member Engagement Panel which has just completed a successful first year.
Established in June, 2021, the 10-person panel holds regular meetings with senior management and Board directors to provide feedback and insights on behalf of the membership.
Panellists serve one 12-month term and can have input into key operational decisions at the Club - to nominate, click here.
