Draftee Tom Doedee is on track to make his Crows debut this week in Sunday’s SANFL Showdown at Mannum Oval.
The 19-year-old defender has been on a restricted program since joining the Club at last year’s National Draft due to an ongoing knee complaint.
Doedee was sidelined throughout all of Adelaide’s pre-season campaign and watched from the stands as the Club’s SANFL team defeated reigning premiers West Adelaide on Saturday.
General Manager of High Performance Brett Burton said the 187cm backman was ready to return to action.
“He trained very strongly on Saturday with the rehab group,” Burton said.
“We expect him to be available to play this week.”
Taylor Walker was seen wearing a moon boot following a physical and fast-paced clash at Etihad Stadium on Saturday night.
Burton said there was no need for concern, confirming the captain will play against Port Adelaide in Saturday’s Showdown XL.
“That’s just precautionary,” Burton said.
“Taylor will be available to play this week, so there’s no issue there.”
Adelaide received positive news regarding ruckman Paul Hunter. The 200cm rookie rolled his ankle at training early last week, but scans revealed no serious damage.
“His ankle injury isn’t as bad as first thought,” Burton said.
“We expect him to be about four weeks, which puts him available after the SANFL bye in Round Four.”
Defender Curtly Hampton continues to progress well in his rehabilitation from a stress reaction in his foot.
“All going well, he’ll be available in three to four week’s time,” Burton said.
The Club reported no new injuries at AFL or SANFL level on Saturday.
