Ever wanted to take a cycling tour through the world-renowned Italian and Swiss lakes and alps region?
In 2017, the Crows Children’s Foundation is offering amateur cyclists the opportunity to do so with a 10-day tour taking in the spectacular scenery of Italy and Switzerland’s small towns and hamlets which also raises funds to help kids in need.
The trip through one of the best cycling regions in the world runs from June 27 to July 7, 2017, and takes in classic ascents including Muro di Sormano, Onno, the Ghisalo, Passo di Gavia, Passo dello Stelvio and Passo Mortirolo.
Participants will spend five nights in Bellagio and five nights in Bormio, with daily rides taking in sweeping views of Lake Como, the cycling chapel Madaonna del Ghisalla and an optional trip to St Moritz, as well as numerous other postcard-perfect locations.
Those taking part are asked to raise at least $2,500 to assist the Crows Children’s Foundation which supports children in need through health, education and welfare programs.
Over the past decade the Foundation has donated more than $1.2 million to a range of causes including the Childhood Cancer Association, Leukaemia Foundation, Operation Flinders, Starlight Foundation, Women’s & Children’s Hospital, The Salvation Army, Heartkids, Flinders Medical Centre, Down Syndrome SA, to name a few.
The $5,000 tour fee includes transfers, accommodation, breakfast and dinner, a special guernsey and a fully escorted ride with experienced guides and on-road vehicle support from Unique Cycling Tours. Airfares are not included.
In 2016 the Crows Children’s Foundation hosted three successful fundraising adventures with groups heading to Mt Everest Base Camp, the Redline Classic in the Barossa and a cruise of Australia’s top end which left them with memories to last a lifetime.
