Adelaide Senior Coach Matthew Nicks believes his squad is ready for the challenge of stopping Hawthorn’s quick, attacking game style.
The Crows will be looking to return to the winners’ list when they take on the Hawks at Marvel Stadium on Sunday.
Speaking to the media on Friday, Nicks said he was confident his side had what it took to get its sixth win of the season.
“They Hawks are a very exciting, young football side,” Nicks said.
“They are a very good side that will just take the game on and rip you apart if you are not switched on defensively.
“We will be doing what we can to take that game away from them and I’m sure they’ll be doing things with us to try and take our game away.
“Marvel is a different stadium to anywhere else you play at… It’s a big challenge for us.”
Nicks said the team had been working hard on moving the ball better in attack.
“We are getting a lot of things right but 30 intercept marks (last week) hurts you,” Nicks said.
“It was just an area we worked on and obviously this week it was a focus for us.
“When we get it right we are very, very good. That’s our challenge to get it right.”
Adelaide will travel to Melbourne tomorrow and train at Punt Rd Oval, with the session open as part of Victorian Members Day.
“We’ve got our Victorian Members Day which is a great opportunity to get out and support the Club and support our Members from Victoria,” Nicks said.
Adelaide’s team to face Hawthorn will be announced on Friday at 4.30pm.
The Crows play Hawthorn at Marvel Stadium on Sunday at 2.50pm ACST (3.20pm local time).
