Position: Small defender

Mueller is a small defender with a neat left-foot kick and good decision-making skills.

The 19-year-old is a graduate of the Bridgestone Crows Academy, thrives in one-on-one contests and also provides plenty when on the attack.

Mueller represented South Australia at the NAB AFLW Under-18 Championships after a strong start to the 2022 SANFLW season with Sturt.

She played all three games at the national championships and ranked second for rebound-50’s.

Mueller, who was a member of Sturt’s leadership group, finished fourth in SANFLW for effective kicks and her form was rewarded with a spot in the 2022 SANFLW Team of the Year.

“Kiera worked really hard last off-season and it was reflected in her form with Sturt this year. 

“She uses the ball well, but it was some of her defensive work that really impressed us. 

“Kiera had some tough match-ups across the year, but rarely got beaten and never gave up on a contest. 

“With Angela Foley, Nikki Gore and Dayna Cox going out of our squad, we identified a need for a small defender, and we think Kiera can develop into that role nicely

“She’s also a hard worker and bubbly personality, so we know she’ll fit right in with our group.”
