SANFL: Season over for Sturt
Three Crows featured in the first week of the SANFL finals with season 2010 over for Sturt’s Matthew Jaensch.
In the Elimination Final the Eagles were too good for the Double Blues winning by 70 points in a dominant display after quarter time.
Rookie Luke Thompson played in defence all game and was solid in the second half, becoming more accountable for his opponent Herring. He finished with six kicks, seven handballs and three marks.
Retired Crow Trent Hentschel also kicked three goals for the Eagles in his first game since injuring his back three weeks ago.
Matthew Jaensch was good for the Double Blues, especially early when he had eight first quarter possessions. He finished with 14 kicks and seven handballs and played in a variety of positions.
In the qualifying final James Sellar played in the ruck and up forward in Glenelg’s loss to Norwood. He had 21 hitouts, 12 possessions and four marks in a solid performance.
