Lawyer Kym Ryder has joined the Adelaide Football Club’s Board of Directors after claiming victory in an independently run election.
He was among three candidates vying for one vacancy created by current Board Director Mark Ricciuto transitioning from a Member-elected to Board-appointed position.
Ryder has been a Member since the Club’s inception and has practised law in South Australia for more than two decades.
Crows Chairman Rob Chapman revealed the election result while speaking at tonight’s Annual Members Meeting.
“It is great that our Members have an influence and a voice in the election process and I congratulate Kym on his appointment,” Chapman said.
“He will bring a fresh perspective and a legal background that complements the existing skills and qualities already present on our Board.”
Ryder said he considered it a privilege to serve the Club as a Board Director.
“I have been a passionate Crows fan since day one and have always been keen to make a contribution beyond holding a membership,” Ryder said.
“I look forward to learning about the inner workings of the organisation and then helping the other Board Directors and executive team drive the Club forward.”
The election process included an online ballot and was run by CorpVote.
Adelaide’s Board Directors are Rob Chapman (Chairman), Jim Hazel (Deputy Chairman), Jim McDowell, Linda Fellows, Kate Ellis, Richard Fennell, Mark Ricciuto, Rod Jameson and Kym Ryder.
