Adelaide assistant coach Nathan van Berlo said players and coaches would have honest conversations this week following the loss to the GWS Giants on Saturday.
The Crows entered the clash with two consecutive wins under their belt but went down to the Giants by 59 points at Adelaide Oval.
Speaking to the media on Monday, van Berlo said Adelaide would need to address the issues.
“We’ll have a good conversation… reinforcing what we have been doing well the past couple of weeks, but also showing some really clear examples from the game on the weekend where we move away from what we do well,” van Berlo said.
“There’s definitely elements of our game that we moved away from that we were doing really, really well the previous few weeks.
“It’s going to be a really good learning experience for our group to show that if we move away from just some little things in our game, how it can have a big effect on the outcome.
“Especially with a team like the Giants who are able to play the way they do and to their credit, they played an outstanding brand of footy and bought the heat, were slick with their ball movement with their hands.
“When you’re just off and don’t execute as well as you need to, you get taught a nice little lesson.”
Van Berlo said a strong response was needed against Carlton on Sunday.
“We are hoping that with some good reflection this afternoon, we hit the training track this week and we learn that we are able to respond really quickly,” van Berlo said.
“We’ve got Carlton this week who are up and about and playing some really strong footy under Vossy (Michael Voss) so I think it’s going to be a huge challenge for us this week.
“It’s about getting back to work, understanding the importance of roles, the importance of mindset and making sure we are unconditional with our approach and effort this week.”
