Midfielder Cam Ellis-Yolmen has been cleared to play in Saturday’s SANFL Elimination Final against Central District.
Finals eligibility rules meant Ellis-Yolmen, who played in Adelaide’s AFL loss to West Coast last Friday, was originally ruled out of this weekend’s clash at Adelaide Oval.
The 23-year-old onballer has spent the majority of the year at SANFL level and is one of the favourites for the Magarey Medal. Ellis-Yolmen has played 16 SANFL games this season, averaging 29 possessions and seven clearances per game.
“As of today, we asked for Cameron Ellis-Yolmen to be available to play and eligible and we’ve been granted that permission,” Crows SANFL coach Heath Younie said on Tuesday.
Paul Seedsman is also a strong chance to return from a corked buttock which has sidelined the long-kicking backman for three weeks.
“At this point in time, Paul Seedsman will be available if fit. It will depend on tomorrow’s main session,” Younie said.
Players eligible for SANFL Finals
Rory Sloane and Brodie Smith were both unavailable in last week’s AFL loss to the Eagles. While the pair would technically be eligible to play in Saturday’s SANFL final, Younie confirmed they wouldn’t feature.
“Both Sloane and Smith, according to the rules, are both eligible to play,” Younie said.
“We’ll declare now that both Smith and Sloane won’t play in this week’s (SANFL) final.”
A two-time North Adelaide best and fairest, Younie notched 183 games with the Roosters and played in several finals campaigns.
Younie said the Crows would be out to win Saturday’s Elimination Final against the Bulldogs and expose the Club’s next generation to the finals cauldron.
“It’s a great opportunity for our guys to play in the first SANFL final,” he said.
“As a past player, I know the importance and the respect I have for the SANFL finals. I got to play in a few of them myself.
“We’ll go into that game and try to defeat a real quality outfit in Central District.
“The brief from the Senior Coach has been all year, we want to go out and compete and win, but we want to do it in the right way.
“This week we’ll have a plan in place to hopefully give ourselves the best opportunity to win that game of footy and progress further.”
