Crows captain Rory Sloane will be given until Thursday to prove his fitness ahead of selection for Friday night’s Showdown with Port Adelaide.
Sloane was subbed out of the Round Two loss to Collingwood on Saturday with adductor soreness and scans on Monday showed a minor injury.
“Rory Sloane had a scan on Monday after an incident early in the game against Collingwood, he was able to play out most of the game but when it became too much we took him off,” High Performance Manager Darren Burgess said.
“The scan showed a minor adductor issue, we will give him every chance to get up and we expect him to train on Thursday and then it will be how well he feels whether he plays on Friday night.”
Fellow midfielder Rory Laird is expected to train fully on Tuesday night and be available for selection after recovering from a broken hand.
“Rory Laird has recovered really well from his hand injury, he’s been able to run the whole time so he will train on Tuesday night at our full training session and he will be available this weekend.”
Defender Andrew McPherson is making good progress in his recovery from a hamstring injury he sustained in Round One and is expected to return next week.
“Andrew McPherson will probably miss this week’s game by about three or four days, his hamstring is coming along really well but it’s probably just a little bit short for him to play this Friday night,” Burgess said.
