Adelaide AFLW defender Sarah Allan says the side is pleased to have clarity on when its Preliminary Final will be hosted.
The Crows were set to take on the Dockers at home this weekend but the clash will now take place on Saturday, April 2.
The new time comes as the Collingwood versus Brisbane knock-out Semi-Final was postponed after multiple Magpies players fell under the AFL’s Health and Safety Protocols.
It will mean the side will have a second week off after finishing the minor rounds top and earning the bye in the first weekend of finals.
Allan, who is part of the Crows’ AFLW leadership group, will play her 50th game in the upcoming preliminary final alongside Stevie-Lee Thompson.
Speaking to the media on Monday, Allan said she was pleased there was now a confirmed day for the Preliminary Final.
“It’s always good to get that clarity,” Allan said.
“With Covid, everything is a bit unpredictable and we’ve gone through the whole season like that so we are happy to do our part and make sure we can get the season done.
“The best thing for us is that we know when we are playing so we can best prepare and train for the finals.
“You’ve got to take the best out of the situation and we’ll definitely do that.
“Then again just that hard training on the track, so we’ll make sure we can do everything possible in training to prepare ourselves for the finals.”
Adelaide’s minor round campaign ended with a 39-point victory against St Kilda in Round 10 and the side finished with a 9-1 win/loss record.
Allan, who lined up in all 10 minor round matches and averaged 11.5 disposals, as well as 5.5 intercept possessions, said the strong performances were a result of everyone playing their role.
“We are a unit and I think we work so well together and that’s something that’s positive every year,” Allan said.
“Especially in defence, it’s not about the highlights or anything, it’s about working together to get the job done and we will continue that into the finals.”
Allan said she was looking forward to training hard this week and keen for the Crows’ finals campaign to kick off.
“The (Fremantle v North Melbourne) game was really exciting and it makes you really keen and excited to play our game as well,” Allan said.
“We know the style and game that finals usually are - (they’re) pressure-filled like we saw on the weekend but it makes me, and I’m sure it makes the team more excited.”
