Adelaide AFLW Senior Coach senior coach Matthew Clarke says his side is still preparing to play its Preliminary Final next weekend until told otherwise.
The competition’s final series was dealt a blow during the week with the Collingwood v Brisbane knock-out semi-final being postponed, as multiple players from Collingwood fell under AFL Health and Safety Protocols.
The Fremantle versus North Melbourne game will still go ahead on Saturday and the winner will take on the Crows in a Preliminary Final at home.
Although the date of the Preliminary Final remains unclear, Clarke said his side, which had a bye this weekend, was training and preparing as normal.
“We try to stay in the same rhythm,” Clarke said, speaking to the media on Friday.
“We train Monday, Wednesday, Friday from the start of pre-season until we are finished and that’s what we will continue to do.
“There’s still lots of stuff to work on, we can continue to get better and make sure that the squad is really healthy and as fit as we possibly can be.
“As soon as we’ve got some certainty from the AFL we’ll be able to have a specific plan.
“But the reality is it probably wouldn’t modify what we are doing at the moment anyway, we’d just modify it once we’ve got some exact dates.”
Adelaide earned the pre-finals bye after claiming the Minor Premiership for a second year in a row.
Clarke said the bye would allow players to rest their bodies and minds before attacking the finals series.
“The week off will provide an opportunity for everyone to be physically ready,” Clarke said.
“I think from an injury perspective hopefully come the Preliminary Final, whenever it may be, we should be pretty close to full strength unless something happens in the meantime.”
