Adelaide defender Najwa Allen will be ineligible for selection for the Club’s next two games after accepting a sanction offered by the Match Review Panel.
The two-game suspension, with an early plea, was handed down after Allen was charged with forceful front-on contact against Collingwood’s Erica Fowler.
The incident occurred during the second quarter of the game against Collingwood at Norwood Oval on Sunday.
Based on the available evidence, the incident was assessed as Careless Conduct, High Impact, High Contact.
Allen will now miss this weekend’s game against St Kilda and the Crows’ first final.
The defender said her only concern was for Fowler’s wellbeing and she had spoken to her several times since the game ended.
Allen said she was extremely relieved that Fowler had been cleared of any serious damage.
“It was a clumsy contest on my behalf and I accept the tribunal's decision,” Allen said.
“I am relieved that Erica is OK and I will now put all my energy into training hard and supporting my teammates.”
