Daniel Talia is expected be fit to take on the Sydney Swans at the SCG this weekend.
Talia, 23, was a late withdrawal from Adelaide’s clash with Gold Coast on Saturday after coming down with a virus the night before the game. The illness was unrelated to the concussion, which saw the All Australian defender subbed out in the second quarter of Showdown XXXIX the week prior. He returned to the Club on Monday and will be monitored during the week.
Young utility Sam Siggins was the only new injury reported at either AFL or SANFL level on the weekend. Siggins was concussed during the Club’s SANFL win over West Adelaide and will be assessed ahead of Saturday’s game against Norwood at The Parade.
Rory Sloane made a successful return from injury in Adelaide’s win over the Suns. Sloane wore a helmet to protect his cheekbone, which he’s fractured twice this season. The popular midfielder said he planned to wear the headgear for another week or two.
Mitch McGovern (knee) got through his SANFL comeback on Sunday unscathed. Another draftee, forward Harry Dear is making excellent progress in his recovery from shoulder surgery and is on track to return before the end of the season. The Club continues to take a conservative approach to Brad Crouch’s foot injury.
