Footy at Adelaide Oval is back and so are the fans with the stadium returning to 100 per cent capacity for the Crows’ Round 1 clash with Fremantle next month.
For the first time in two years, Adelaide’s popular home ground can return to a full house in a major win for Members, supporters, the Club and the industry on the eve of the 2022 Toyota AFL Premiership Season.
Crowd restrictions brought about by the pandemic in 2020 are set to be removed, paving the way for Adelaide fans to return to the footy in full voice as Matthew Nicks’ young team continues to emerge.
While Membership continues to grow, the Club is calling on fans to get behind the team and be part of the unique game-day experience at Adelaide Oval starting with the Round 1 match against Fremantle on Sunday, March 20.
Crows CEO Tim Silvers said the start of every season was exciting, but this year even more so with the return of crowds in big numbers.
“We are grateful that our members, who have stuck firmly with us during what has been a trying couple of years, can now get back into the routine of going to games and seeing our team play in-person,” Silvers said.
“As a footy fan, I have missed the atmosphere, seeing familiar faces and the overall social aspect of what game days used to be, and I’m sure there are lots of people who feel the same.
“I encourage all Crows fans who have not yet signed up for a membership to do so.
“We have a talented bunch of young players and now is the time for all Crows supporters to get behind Nicksy, Sloaney and the team, as we look to rise up the ladder.
“The decision to increase crowd sizes is also much bigger than just football.
“Adelaide Oval at full capacity makes for a great experience and it brings people back to the city and frequenting surrounding businesses, such as cafes, restaurants and hotels. This is great for the city of Adelaide.”
