Adelaide winger Eloise Jones says she doesn’t take too much notice of her individual performances or accolades.
Jones, who is in the Crows’ leadership group, has her focus firmly on doing what’s best for her teammates and to help the side win.
But the 22-year-old has put up many impressive performances so far this year, averaging 14.2 disposals, 254.1 metres gained and 5.4 contested possessions.
But it was her dominant performance in the win over GWS on Saturday that caught the eye of both coaches.
Jones’ 20 disposals, seven marks and four tackles led to her receiving a perfect 10 coaches' votes.
Speaking to the media on Monday, Jones said the side’s 6-1 record was a result of the whole team playing well.
She said she had worked on being consistent in her second season playing on the wing as opposed to in the forward line.
“I’m just happy I can be in such a fantastic team,” Jones said.
“I think every time you come into the team you want to at least be able to contribute and help win but I think everyone is coming in and playing a fantastic role.
“I was a little shocked (to receive 10 votes).
“I had a little bit of a dip in the Melbourne game but I think from there I’ve been relatively consistent which I’ve been really happy about and that’s all I wanted to work on.
“I was happy with how I played and hopefully I can continue that for the rest of the season.”
Jones said she was proud of how her side responded against the Giants following the loss to Western Bulldogs the week prior.
“I think coming off the back of the Doggies game, we were really disappointed as a team,” Jones said.
“We didn’t quite execute what we wanted to execute, so to come out and play as well as we did against the Giants was fantastic.
“It shows our ability to rebound.
“We wanted to work on contest and pressure and I think we nailed both those aspects of the game.”
Adelaide travels to Perth to take on Fremantle for the Round Eight clash on Saturday.
“Freo is a fantastic side and they’ve got some big-bodied mids, their run and carry is super good,” Jones said.
“We back the likes of Noffy (Ebony Marinoff) and Hatch (Anne Hatchard) and all of our midfielders. Monty (Montana McKinnon) has been doing fantastic in the ruck for us.
“It’s going to be a fantastic game and probably some of the best match-ups you'll see this season and we are excited to play against a quality team.”
