Adelaide has made two more list changes ahead of the national draft with Ronin O’Connor and Ben Davis both informed they would not be offered a contract for next season.
Davis played six AFL games, including the last three of the past season, after being drafted in 2016 and developing as a versatile player at SANFL level.
O’Connor was drafted in 2019 and made his AFL debut against West Coast in his home state of Western Australia in Round 9 this season.
The midfielder played three AFL games while consistently performing strongly in the state league competition.
The Club has told Davis it will give some consideration to potentially re-drafting him as a rookie after assessing its talent draft order next month.
Adelaide General Manager List Management and Strategy Justin Reid said both players were highly respected and the decision not to renew their contracts was not made lightly.
“At this time of year, there are always difficult decisions that need to be made at AFL clubs and in this case it unfortunately means saying goodbye to two quality people in Ben and Ronin,” Reid said.
“Both have overcome hurdles since arriving at the Club, whether it be injury or the limited opportunities that existed in the 2020 season which was affected by Covid-19.
“We would like to thank them for their contribution both on and off the field and wish them well for their future, they are both of great character and will always be welcome back as part of the Crows family.”
