Adelaide has confirmed three changes for its Round 23 clash with North Melbourne at Adelaide Oval on Sunday.
As announced on Thursday, young Crow Lachlan Gollant will make his AFL debut in the Club’s final match of 2021.
Despite Gollant’s passionate pitch to the coach, Matthew Nicks made clear his selection was based on merit.
“We’re not going to debut players unless they deserve the opportunity… I love the fact that players are driving themselves and putting themselves in front of the group and saying, ‘I’m ready’,” Nicks said.
“He’s ready to play AFL footy and hopefully that leads him well into next year.
“I know our supporters will get to the end of the game and they’ll really enjoy watching him play.”
Brodie Smith returns after a concussion in Round 21 ruled him out of last weekend’s match against Melbourne at the MCG.
Billy Frampton also returns and will play his 10th game of the season.
Jake Kelly and Elliott Himmelberg have been ruled out due to injury - delayed concussion and hamstring respectively.
Nick Murray has been omitted.
Sunday’s game commences at 4.10pm and will be televised live on Fox Footy.
Fans attending the game are encouraged to bring any old football boots for the Adelaide Crows Foundation's Boots for Boxes campaign.
The Adelaide Football Club will also celebrate RAA Members Round in appreciation of the Crows’ loyal supporters.
