Adelaide forward Taylor Walker has labelled Jack Riewoldt’s Round 11 screamer the “best mark he’s seen live”. 

Walker led the charge on a resurgence in the final term of Adelaide’s clash with Richmond on Sunday, booting the first goal of the quarter before the Crows drove the margin back down to eight points. 

But that momentum was quelled by a Riewoldt masterclass, with the Richmond star taking three marks inside 50 and booting 2.1 in the space of three minutes. 

Walker told Triple M’s Roo & Ditts that the hanger, nominated for Mark of the Year, was one of the most impressive grabs he’d ever seen. 

“I find it pretty funny how they keep comparing (Riewoldt’s mark) to his cousin Nick’s,” Walker said. 

“I remember looking at (Shai) Bolton and, I won’t say what I said on the radio, but my God, it was unbelievable.”

While applauding Riewoldt’s performance, Goal of the Year nominee Walker said he was proud of Adelaide’s young side for fighting back.

“On the weekend, we put ourselves in a great position to potentially win the game but their class just showed in the second and third quarter,” he said. 

“We came back in the last quarter and I was really proud of the young group being able to do that.

“The past probably four or five weeks, our ability to sustain four quarters is where it gets us.”

However, Walker said matches like Adelaide’s one-point clutch win over Melbourne helped remind the team that they had the ability to win games. 

“It just reassures our group that our gameplan stands up against the best sides,” he said.
