More Crows fans will be able to attend the footy in time for some blockbuster fixtures and members impacted by the reserved seat relocation will be moved back to their original seats when Adelaide Oval’s stadium capacity returns to 100 per cent next month.
The State Government, SA Health and Adelaide Oval today announced that crowds of up to 50,000 would be welcomed back in time for Adelaide’s Round 10 home game against Melbourne on Saturday, May 22.
Members who were impacted by the seat relocation due to the Oval’s Covid-safe plan will be contacted by the Club’s membership department in the near future to discuss moving back to their original seats.
“This is great news for South Australian footy and it means more fans get the chance to enjoy the match day experience at Adelaide Oval,” Adelaide CEO Tim Silvers said.
“It is fortunate timing because in coming weeks the fixture has us hosting games against opposition such as Melbourne and Collingwood which normally attract sell-out crowds.
“We will now shift our focus to returning members, who were relocated due to the revised seating model, to what were their normal seats and this will be in place for our Round 10 home game onwards.
“Our state is blessed to be in a position to have a stadium at full capacity and credit must go to the broader community, as well as government and health officials, for their handling of the pandemic.”
Under the revised Covid-safe plan, masks must continue to be worn when entering, exiting and moving about the venue but not when you are in your seat, and QR check-ins, social distancing and hygiene measures will continue to remain in place.
