Taylor Walker has revealed he made a tongue-in-cheek pass at Gold Coast coach Stuart Dew during the Crows’ nail-biting 10-point win on Friday.
The Adelaide forward was crucial in the Crows’ victory, following up 11 majors in the first two rounds with another half-dozen goals against the Suns.
Speaking to Triple M’s Roo & Ditts, Walker said Dew approached him on the ground.
“I said, ‘You wanna be careful, you might get a ten grand fine like Scotty (Chris Scott) did if you come out and mix and match with the players’,” Walker laughed.
“He did not reply, he gave me the dirtiest look you’ve ever seen.”
Despite the on-ground rivalry, Dew gave a similarly playful response during his post-game press conference.
When asked if he was impressed by Walker’s return to form, Dew responded yes - but with a catch.
“Not tonight though - he was a pain in the ass tonight,” he said.
“But full respect to him - having lived in this town, it can be tough particularly when it’s not going well.
“I think there should be a little bit more respect shown across the industry at different times.
“It’s very quick to jump on people - I’m sure a lot of people have changed their tune but I think if you look at his intention, it’s always to do his best for the Adelaide Football Club.
“He’s doing that very well right now, full respect.”
