Adelaide captain Chelsea Randall has called on Crows fans to flock to Adelaide Oval for this weekend’s AFLW Preliminary Final.

The Crows host Melbourne at 1.40pm on Saturday April 10, playing at the iconic ground for the first time since the team’s historic 2019 Grand Final win.

The skipper hopes supporters will once again get behind the side as it clashes with one of the toughest teams in the league.

“It is honestly the toughest, fastest, most skillful AFLW competition that we’ve ever seen… it’s exciting to be a part of that and we’re keen to dig in and play in such an amazing, iconic stadium,” Randall said.

She believes the key to the Crows’ success will be hearing the home crowd roar.

“We loved calling Norwood Oval home but we can’t wait for the chance to have a few more supporters cheer us on,” she said.

“It’ll help that we have the home ground advantage and we just hope we can get as many supporters here as possible to get us across the line.”

While many of Adelaide’s seasoned players have run out on the ground before, it will be a number of the girls’ first games at Adelaide Oval.

“We’ve had some experience in finals footy and that’s an advantage in some regard - but there’s also a lot of young girls that have never played at Adelaide Oval before,” she said.

“It’s about managing those emotions and not thinking too far ahead.”

“Adelaide Oval is the same size as West Lakes, where we train almost every day, so we’re excited to be able to run.”
