The Guildford Crows made their eagerly awaited debut in the United Kingdom last weekend.

Playing in guernseys kindly donated by the Adelaide Crows, the English combination (some of whom were playing their first game of Australian Football) tried hard but sadly lost to the Portsmouth Pirates at Hove.

The game was played as a curtain-raiser to the British AFL Southern League grand final between Sussex Swans and Bournemouth Demons. The Guildford Crows - based in Guildford, Surrey - were set up in 2009 after a returning British travelling student Tom Drake sparked a love for the game and started his own 9-a-side team.
