Adelaide will be bolstered by the return of Tom Lynch, but Brad Crouch has been ruled out of Saturday night’s clash with the Sydney Swans.
Lynch is available after being a late withdrawal from the team to play Richmond. The influential forward returned to Adelaide on Saturday morning to be at the birth of his daughter, Tayla.
Crouch, 22, also withdrew from the Crows team last week after experiencing pain in his hamstring at training.
Physical Performance Coordinator Matthew Bode said scans and further assessment had created a clearer picture of the injury, which is expected to see Crouch sidelined for about another fortnight.
“Brad has a minor hamstring issue,” Bode said.
“We’ve always taken a cautious approach with Brad, and he’s expected to be out for about 2 - 3 weeks.”
Paul Seedsman hopes to be fit for the match against Sydney at Adelaide Oval.
Seedsman was concussed when he chased down and tackled Tiger Ben Lennon early in the last quarter at Etihad Stadium.
“Paul had a slight concussion,” Bode said.
“He’ll go through the normal procedure with the doctor this week and be assessed.”
Recruit Curtly Hampton and rookies Paul Hunter and Alex Keath are all likely to be ready for Adelaide’s next SANFL game against Glenelg on Sunday, April 24.
Hampton (foot) and Hunter (ankle) both featured in SANFL trial matches, but are yet to play a game for points this season. Alex Keath, who juggled cricket and football commitments over the summer, has completed a ‘mini’ pre-season and could make his SANFL debut against the Bays.
“We’ve got a fortnight before the next SANFL game where we can get some quality training into these guys, and then they’ll be assessed before the game,” Bode said.
Adelaide’s SANFL team has a bye this weekend.
