Adelaide forward Taylor Walker, fresh off five goals in Round One against Geelong, may have a new nickname for the 2021 season.
AFL analyst Gerard Healy praised the opening round of the AFL season for its goal rush, with particular platitudes given to the League’s full-forwards.
“Once thought extinct like dinosaurs, full forwards were again sighted across the nation… but most notably in Adelaide with an Earth shattering performance from Tyrannosaurus Tex,” Healy said.
On Tuesday, Walker was played the audio grab on Triple M’s Roo & Ditts and was asked if the new rules had benefited forwards.
“I’d be interested to see how they play out over the next few weeks,” Walker said, after laughing off Healy’s new nickname for him.
“I was just lucky enough on the weekend to get on the end of a couple from our pressure up the field.
“The boys used the ball well, hit me when I was leading.
“I was just topping off what the boys did up the field.”
Playing in his 204th AFL game, Walker was full of admiration for the Crows’ young contingent.
“Those boys played really well,” Walker said.
“Especially Hingey (Mitch Hinge), to have his shoulder pop out a couple of times and just keep grinding away.
“(And) how good was Will Hamill running down Danger (Patrick Dangerfield).”
