Crows Ambassador Patty Mills will be shooting to win a NBA Championship when the San Antonio Spurs kicks off their Finals campaign this week.
The Spurs qualified for the showdown with defending champions Miami Heat after sweeping the Memphis Grizzlies (4-0) in the NBA's Western Conference finals.
Mills and Spurs and Boomers teammate Aron Baynes will be aiming to join Luc Longley and Andrew Gaze as the only Australians to win championship rings. Longley won three rings with Michael Jordan's Chicago Bulls in the 1990s while Gaze earned one with the Spurs in 1999.
The Spurs last won a championship in 2007. The best of seven series starts on Friday morning, South Australian time.
A massive Crows fan, Mills was a regular guest in the change rooms last season. His parents, Benny and Yvonne, made the trip from Canberra (where Patty was born) to Melbourne to cheer Adelaide on against North Melbourne at Etihad Stadium a fortnight ago.
