When Justine Mules snuck forward and kicked a goal during Adelaide’s 53-point win against St Kilda on Sunday, she let everyone know about it with a big celebration.

Most people thought the reason was due to it being her first goal in her 32 games of AFLW across five seasons.

However, in a press conference on Tuesday, Crows midfielder Ebony Marinoff revealed there may have been another reason for Mules’ energy.

“It’s a funny story that she didn't kick a goal in over 30 games and last week, myself, Juzzy (Mules) and Lynchy (forwards coach and AFL player Tom Lynch) were having a conversation,” Marinoff said.

“There was a slab on that – he said, ‘if you kick your first goal, I’d owe you a slab’.

“He hasn’t paid up yet, but he's telling me he’s purchased it.”

Marinoff said the game at Norwood Oval was the most fun the team had had for the last few years.

“I think the best part about the game on the weekend was that everyone just had fun,” she said.

“I didn't realise the score, everyone was just kicking goals – we had seven individual goal kickers and that was a positive thing.

“We’ve had some great cohesion across the past two weeks, so hopefully we can flow that on to the end of the season.”

The Crows are playing at Norwood Oval again in Round Six, taking on Gold Coast on Saturday, March 6 at 4:40pm.

Tickets to the game will go on sale at 11am on Thursday, March 4 for members and 12pm for the general public.
