Crows AFLW Assistant Coach Tom Lynch says a whirlwind week isn’t enough to keep him away from the women’s games this pre-season.

Lynch, along with the AFLW side, was forced to isolate after returning from the team’s Round One clash in Perth at the end of January.

While the COVID-19 quarantine disrupted Lynch’s pre-season schedule, the Adelaide forward is still relishing the coaching experience.

“I was able to get some training in (at home) and then I headed off to Sydney with the women’s team and got a bit of a run around with them as well,” he said.

“It was a little unfortunate that I was unable to train but they were the circumstances I was dealt.”

While COVID-19 restrictions pose a threat to the AFLW fixture, Lynch hopes he’ll still be able to travel interstate to games.

“I hope (I can go to games), it’s something that I’m really enjoying and loving being a part of,” he said.

“They’re a super passionate group and I’m lucky to work with such a good team and coaching side.

“They’re playing some great footy and I think it’s gonna be quite an exciting year for them.”

The 28-year-old said there were some positives from being stuck in isolation.

“I loved being home with my kids, that’s for sure,” he said.

“They’re the sort of cards you get dealt these days… there were a lot more people doing it a lot tougher than we were, so having a bit of perspective is a good thing.”

The Crows are set to play their first home game this Sunday afternoon against Fremantle at Norwood Oval, with tickets on sale Friday.
