Adelaide has finalised its sanction for second-year player Josh Worrell following a driving incident in December.
The Club has imposed a $2000 fine and Worrell will complete a road safety education course, with an emphasis on the dangers of drink and distracted driving behaviours.
The 19-year-old was stopped by police while driving in Adelaide’s western suburbs.
He was issued with an expiation notice for using his mobile phone while driving, as well as having a low-level prescribed concentration of alcohol in his blood (0.056).
Worrell had stayed overnight at a teammate’s house before driving home when he was stopped by police about 9am.
Crows Head of Football Adam Kelly said the sanction reflected the Club’s disappointment in Worrell’s decision making.
“Josh is obviously disappointed in his actions and has expressed this to the playing group and staff,” Head of Football Adam Kelly said.
“Further to this sanction, the Club will be identifying and engaging an appropriate organisation or individual to educate our players regarding decisions that lead to road safety dangers.”
