1. South-East
Pedlar was born in Mt Gambier and lived there until he was six. His family then moved to Kingston, where he fished, surfed and played every sport he could with his mates.
2. Under 14s flag
Winning an under 14s flag for the Kingston Saints with his best mates at home is Pedlar’s favourite footy moment.
3. PAC captain
After studying in Kingston from reception to Year 10, Pedlar moved to Adelaide and boarded at Prince Alfred College from Year 11 and 12.
4. Opening bat
A very handy cricketer, Pedlar used to travel to Adelaide from Kingston every weekend in the summer to play cricket for Kensington District Cricket Club. The batter played in quite a few state sides as well.
5. Cricket tour to England
When he was 15, Pedlar had the trip of a lifetime to England as part of the Gillespie Academy. He went to London and North Yorkshire playing other cricket academies for three weeks and also visited Lords.
6. Sibling support
Pedlar has two older sisters who were in Adelaide before he moved to board at PAC. They have been really supportive and helpful while he adjusted to life in the city.
7. Similar to Sloane
Pedlar can’t wait to play alongside Rory Sloane given the two play similar roles as inside midfielders and the duo also have the love of surfing in common.
8. Family tradition
Living close to the border, the Pedlar family didn’t follow South Australian footy and instead started following North Melbourne in the AFL. His Pop and then Dad became Kangaroo supporters and so Luke did too.
9. Future accountant?
Just this week, Pedlar received an impressive ATAR score, which got him into a Bachelor of Accounting. He’s not 100 per cent sure whether that’s the course he wants to study, but his high ATAR will provide him options.
10 Blue fin
The biggest fish Pedlar has caught was a whopping 140kg blue fin tuna. He had to take turns with his mates and his dad to reel it in, but it was worth the effort.
