Adelaide list manager Justin Reid has reiterated the Club's focus on securing high-end talent at the 2020 National Draft.
As it stands, Adelaide holds picks 1, 9, 22, 23 and 40 in the first two rounds of the national draft as well as the top pick in the pre-season draft.
Reid told Adelaide radio on Friday morning the Club was determined to focus on youth and rejuvenating the playing list.
“We were key going into it that (the trade period) our focus would be our draft hand,” Reid said.
“We’re really clear on where we sit from a strategy point of view.
“15 months ago we were set on the pathway of a rebuild and realistically, with Covid and the hubs we’ve had, we’ve only had 17 games to expose the list.”
INDICATIVE DRAFT ORDER: POST TRADE
Young Giants midfielder Jackson Hately was a long-touted target for the Crows during the trade period, however a trade did not materialise.
Reid was adamant Hately would still be moving to West Lakes.
“GWS had a lot at play with Jeremy Cameron and Jye Caldwell,” Reid said.
“We went into the trade period in good faith, looking to do a trade, but at the same time we held firmly that we wouldn’t compromise our draft hand.
“We had some options on the table, four or five options, but I think time just ran out.
“Jacko will now get through to the Adelaide Football Club through the pre-season draft or as a delisted free agent.”
The 2020 national and pre-season drafts will be held the week commencing Monday, December 7.
Adelaide currently holds picks 1, 9, 22, 23, 40, 56, 66 and 80.
