Adelaide coach Matthew Nicks has described young Crow Harry Schoenberg as an “extremely raw, but super talented midfielder” ahead of the 19-year-old’s AFL debut on Wednesday night.
Schoenberg was one of eight inclusions to Adelaide’s team for their Round 10 clash with Melbourne at Adelaide Oval.
The ball-winning midfielder hailing from SA’s Mid North is known for his work at stoppages to set up his teammates on the outside.
“He’s got explosive speed. We’ve been working on a lot of that with him, trying to bring that out in his game even more,” Nicks said.
“He’s playing some great football in those practice matches, which is quite a challenge at this point. Still got (things to) work on, as a lot of the younger guys do, but we really like what we see from him.
“If you’re talking a weapon, what you see there is a really natural footballer and he’s got some explosive power.
“When he does get his hands on that ball in stoppage, it’s quite exciting to see.”
