Tom Doedee has titled himself “Lazarus” after suffering a minor hamstring injury against Essendon on Sunday, skipper Rory Sloane has revealed.
Stand-in captain Doedee missed the majority of the second half against the Bombers following an awkward collision in the defensive 50.
But the Crows defender could still feature this weekend following reassuring signs for the Club’s medical staff.
“Tom was calling himself ‘Lazarus’ the other day,” Sloane told Triple M’s The Rush Hour.
“He thinks he might be ok… zero week hammy (hamstring injury), it’s unheard of.
“We’re hoping Tom gets up, I played seven days after an overstretched hamstring last year.
“Our physios do an incredible job of getting guys ready.”
A final call on Doedee will be confirmed in team selection on Friday.
Sloane is expected to miss at least two more weeks with a fractured hand but is hopeful he can feature towards the end of the current fixture block.
“The smelly cast is off now, I’m in a black looking glove which is more of a splint,” he said.
“I’ll keep fit, hopefully get my touch back and get an xray in a few weeks before I return.”
Adelaide will face North Melbourne at Metricon Stadium on Saturday at 2.35pm AEST / 2.05pm ACST.
