WITH two consecutive Grand Finals and a reputation as one of the most disciplined sides in the league, the Sydney Swans are a formidable opponent for most.

But Adelaide has well and truly established itself as Sydney's bogey side over the past few years.

The Crows have not dropped a match to the Swans since 2004.

Adelaide coach Neil Craig said he was not sure why the Crows had become so consistently good at wrong-footing Sydney.

"It's a good question," he said.

"I don't know, it's amazing how it unfolds in the competition, you often have two clubs that can go one way for a period of time."

Craig pointed to similarities between the two clubs as a possible reason for the Crows' dominance.

"The style of footy we play is not dissimilar to Sydney's so, I don't know, but we're very happy with the result because we've got a huge respect for where Sydney stand in the competition."
