North Melbourne defender Luke McDonald can accept a one-match sanction after being charged with engaging in Rough Conduct against Crows forward Chayce Jones.

The first-quarter incident forced Jones to leave the field with concussion, unable to play any further part in Saturday night’s clash between the Crows and Kangaroos at Marvel Stadium.

Based on the available evidence, the incident was assessed as Careless Conduct with Medium Impact and High Contact.

Roos coach Brad Scott told AFL 360 on Monday his club is likely to challenge the ban at the AFL Tribunal. 

“I suspect we will go to the tribunal on this one,” Scott said.

It’s very doubtful that the contact Luke made, in my view, contributed to the concussion.

“The question is his left knee there, what actually caused the issue itself.

“The week is a bit frustrating for us. I thought it was certainly a free kick and a 50m penalty, but I think we will challenge the week.” 

Kangaroos captain Jack Ziebell can accept a $2000 sanction with an early plea after being charged for engaging in Rough Conduct against Brad Crouch during the second quarter.

Based on the available evidence, the incident was assessed as Careless Conduct with Low Impact and High Contact. 

Ben Cunnington was also charged for making careless contact with umpire Shane McInerney and can accept a $2500 sanction with an early plea.
